The Gables Hotel is 3-star hotel with 46 bedrooms, conference facilities for up to 200 delegates, a brasserie restaurant and lounge bar.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team.

As Maintenance Assistant you will be predominantly carry out our rolling refurbishment programme. This will involve painting and decorating rooms and public areas. You will be responsible for the maintenance of furniture, fixtures and fittings of the Hotel as well as general maintenance in and around the hotel.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in general maintenance and painting and decorating. Candidates must have the ability to produce quality work within tight deadlines and the ability to work effectively alone. An appreciation of customer service and good communication skills are also essential as this role will also involve dealing with our guests.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours, 5 days per week. Occasional ‘on call’ is also a part of this role.

The Gables Hotel is 3-star hotel with 46 bedrooms, conference facilities for up to 200 delegates, a brasserie restaurant and lounge bar.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Conference and Events Manager to join our team.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will manage the hotel’s Conference and Events enquiries and bookings to maximise sales of our conference and banqueting facilities. This is a hands-on role with a chance to get involved in everything from sales calls to strategic planning. You will also work closely with other department heads to ensure that customer requirements are satisfied to the finest detail.

The successful candidate must have previous hotel sales experience as we are looking for someone to help us recover from the covid pandemic and get us back to being the well performing property that we once were. We therefore require someone with a proactive approach in order to seek out new business wherever possible. Candidates must also demonstrate excellent communication, organisation, presentation and negotiation skills.

This is a full time position although part time may be considered and hours can be flexible to fit around other commitments but will inevitably include some evening and weekend work.
